Ride A Pet Rebirth Guide: Requirements & Timing
Rebirth is the only permanent progression system in Ride A Pet, and the only one that takes something away. Understanding exactly what you lose is what separates a good rebirth from a wasted one.

1. What a rebirth resets — and what it grants
You lose: your Coins, and your temporary Luck Multiplier.
You keep: your pets, and your Ranch capacity.
You gain permanently: +1x Money Multiplier and +1 Pet Slot.
The Coins reset is the part that catches people out. A rebirth at $1M when you have $1M banked means rebuilding from nothing, which is why the timing question matters more than the affordability question.
2. The full rebirth ladder
Level 1 — $1M, requires a Horse. Level 2 — $50M, requires a Fox. Level 3 — $2.5B, requires a Unicorn. Level 4 — $125B, requires a Phoenix.
Level 5 — $6.2T, requires a Kitsune. Level 6 — $325T, requires a Kitsune. Level 7 — $15.6Qa, requires a Kitsune.
Costs are documented community values — the developer publishes no official rebirth table. Video guides report there is no hard maximum rebirth cap, with costs escalating past the documented seven.
The rebirths page shows the same ladder alongside each required pet's own stats.
3. The requirement chain is the real gate
Look at what the requirements force you to do: Horse (1 in 500K) → Fox (1 in 21M) → Unicorn (1 in 1T) → Phoenix (1 in 30T) → Kitsune (1 in 1Qi).
That is the pet ladder in a different order. Each rebirth level is effectively a checkpoint that says 'come back when you have hatched this', and the cost is almost secondary: by the time you can hatch a Kitsune, $6.2T is reachable.
It also means endgame progression is not a choice between pets and rebirths — the rebirth system consumes the pet ladder. The endgame pets guide covers the top of that chain.
4. Pet slots, and why they compound
Every rebirth grants +1 Pet Slot on your Ranch permanently. Slots are the storage behind every other strategy on this site: the pet you farm income with, the fast pet you ride to spawns, the high-jump pet you keep as a tool, and the pet you park on the ranch during storms.
Early on you are short of slots, which forces the swap-everything play style. Every rebirth loosens that constraint — so a rebirth's value is not only the +1x Money Multiplier, it is also the ability to stop choosing between your pets.
That is why a rebirth you cannot rebuild from is still usually worth taking eventually: the slot is permanent and never resets.
5. The readiness checklist
Before you rebirth, be able to answer yes to all four: (1) You hold the required pet for that level. (2) You have nothing expensive in progress — no egg hunt half-won, no food purchase pending. (3) You have a route back to your current income that does not depend on the Coins about to be deleted. (4) You have spent or parked anything you would rather not lose.
If (4) is unclear: mutations live on pets, and pets survive rebirth, so a parked mutation is safe. Unspent Coins are not.
The upgrade order guide covers the buy-everything-first sequence that makes (2) and (4) easy.
6. How the luck reset changes your next hunt
Because a rebirth clears your temporary Luck Multiplier, the session immediately after a rebirth is the worst time to chase a high-value egg — you are hunting at your baseline while your Coins are at zero.
The efficient pattern is the reverse: do your egg hunting late in a rebirth cycle when the multiplier is built up, then rebirth once the hunt has paid out, and spend the next stretch rebuilding income rather than hunting.
More on how the multiplier and hatch odds interact is in the luck guide.
Frequently asked questions
What does rebirth do in Ride A Pet?
It resets your Coins and your temporary Luck Multiplier, and permanently grants +1x Money Multiplier and +1 Pet Slot on your Ranch. Your pets and Ranch capacity carry over — you do not lose pets.
How many rebirths are there in Ride A Pet?
The community wiki documents 7 levels, from $1M with a Horse to $15.6Qa with a Kitsune. Video guides report there is no hard maximum rebirth cap, with costs continuing to escalate beyond the documented table.
What pet do I need to rebirth in Ride A Pet?
Each level demands a specific pet: Horse for level 1, Fox for level 2, Unicorn for level 3, Phoenix for level 4, and Kitsune for levels 5, 6 and 7. The pet requirement usually bites before the cost does.
