Ride A Pet Endgame Pets: Dragon, Kitsune & Cerberus
The top of the pet ladder is not a simple ranking. Four pets matter and they are good at different things, which means 'best pet' has a different answer depending on whether you are trying to reach eggs or bank money.

1. The four pets that matter
Phoenix — 1 in 30T, 1,000,000 speed, 100,000 income, 146 jump. The first pet past a million speed, and the required pet for Rebirth 4.
Cerberus — 1 in 70Qa, 100,000,000 speed, 30,000,000 income, 143 jump. The cheapest entry into the hundred-million-speed tier.
Kitsune — 1 in 1Qi, 1,000,000,000 speed, 90,000,000 income, 170 jump. Fastest pet in the game and the joint-highest jump.
Dragon — 1 in 5Qi, 300,000,000 speed, 300,000,000 income, 150 jump. The highest base income documented anywhere in the game.
2. Speed and income do not scale together
This is the single most useful thing to understand about the endgame. Kitsune has 3.3 times Dragon's speed and less than a third of its income. Dragon has three times Kitsune's income and a third of its pace.
So 'best pet' is not answerable in the abstract. If your bottleneck is reaching Ethereal egg spawns inside a 20-second window, Kitsune is the pick. If your bottleneck is affording the $6.2T Rebirth 5 or a $30M Eternal Radar, Dragon is the pick.
Cerberus sits underneath both as a realistic intermediate: 100 million speed is fast enough for basically everything, at hatch odds three orders of magnitude kinder than Kitsune's.
3. Phoenix is a progression requirement, not just a pet
Phoenix is the pet required for Rebirth 4, which costs $125B. That makes it the one endgame pet you cannot skip, even if you would never choose it on stats alone.
It is also the last pet before the odds stop being plausible: 1 in 30T for Phoenix against 1 in 70Qa for Cerberus, 1 in 1Qi for Kitsune and 1 in 5Qi for Dragon.
The full rebirth ladder and which pet each level demands is on the rebirth guide.
4. The hatch odds, stated plainly
1 in 30T means 30,000,000,000,000. 1 in 5Qi means 5,000,000,000,000,000,000. These are not numbers you grind out by hatching; the expected number of attempts for a Dragon is five quintillion eggs.
What that means in practice is that the endgame tier is reached through mutations and radars, not through a lucky hatch streak. A x100 Eternal mutation on a Fox produces a pet that beats most of the ladder, and it costs one storm rather than one quintillion attempts.
The luck guide works through what those denominators actually mean over a session, including the 50% and 90% attempt counts.
5. Mutations are the real endgame
Since a pet holds one mutation and only upgrades, the productive play is to settle on a durable pet — Fox or above — and let successive storms improve it. Shocked x2 through Eternal x100.
Compare the outcomes honestly: Kitsune is 1 billion speed, while a Fox at 19,500 with an Eternal mutation is 1,950,000. That is still 500 times short of Kitsune, so mutations do not substitute for the endgame tier — they substitute for the millions of hatches between you and it.
The mutations page lists which mutation each storm type produces, and the calculator models the result.
6. When to stop chasing
A practical stopping rule: once your pet clears about 100 million speed, further speed gains stop unlocking content and start only saving seconds. At that point income compounds faster than speed does.
That is the point to switch focus to Dragon, or to bank for the Rebirth 5 and 6 rungs at $6.2T and $325T, which need Kitsune as the required pet.
Both routes are modelled on the rebirths page and the tier list.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best pet in Ride A Pet?
It depends on the goal. Kitsune is best for speed at 1 billion, Dragon is best for income at 300 million, and Cerberus is the most reachable top-tier pet at 100 million speed. No single pet is best at all three stats.
How rare is Dragon in Ride A Pet?
Dragon is documented at 1 in 5Qi — 5,000,000,000,000,000,000. It has 300 million speed and 300 million income, the highest base income published for any pet in the game.
Why do I need Phoenix in Ride A Pet?
Phoenix is the required pet for Rebirth 4, which costs $125B. At 1 in 30T with 1 million speed it is also the last pet before the hatch odds become effectively ungrindable.
